Gayle Jennings-O’Byrne, the CEO of the venture firm Wocstar Capital, is widely recognized as a trailblazer in venture capital with over 30 years of Wall Street and tech experience. Through its early-stage funds, Wocstar is investing in leading-edge tech companies. Named one of Forbes’ 50 Over 50: Investing (2024), The New York Times' 10 Women Changing the Landscape of Leadership (2021), one of Business Insider’s Top Black Venture Capitalists (2024), and among Venture Capital Journal’s Top 10 Women of Influence in Venture Capital (2022).

Gayle is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business and the University of Michigan. She began her career at Sun Microsystems and later worked in mergers and acquisitions at JPMorgan. She has served on Tri Delta’s Foundation Board of Trustees and was formerly President of The Nantucket Project Academy. Her board service has also included Women.NYC, and BE.NYC (Black Entrepreneurs NYC) through NYC Small Business Services. Gayle received the 2022 U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2021 Tri Delta Woman of Achievement Award.

Gayle is also an Associate Producer of Thoughts of a Colored Man on Broadway and an investor in For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/ When the Rainbow Is Enuf, which was nominated for seven Tony Awards. She splits her time between Arizona, California, and New York, where she lives with her husband and family.
