FAQ's
Basic Information
Who is Wordeee for?

First and foremost, Wordeee is about the creative community.

We’re passionate about making the industry around words (publishing or otherwise) more globally accessible for independent artists.

Wordeee, a social, digital, and media platform, provides tools for creatives that have the power to redefine the future of words. It is all about putting creative power back into the hands of the creators. Our process always begins with a book. From there, exploiting the power of words across myriad media platforms: film, television, podcasts, theater, music, documentaries, whether you sing it, say it, write it, or express it through a visual medium, is our vision.

Our full-service publishing platform that includes robust promotional, marketing, distribution, and social tools is built to help us identify works suitable across media enabling us to unlock the potential and expand the creative reach of emerging and well-established artists. Wordeee's to connect artists directly to their audience, help them diversify their revenue streams, and to find their unique voice. Fully developed, Wordeee will become a robust cross-platformed media company for artists.

For creatives, Wordeee represents freedom to express their innate talent to the world and to gain the financial freedom to DDJ (Ditch Day Job). Our aim is to disrupt creativity. Built with equality in mind and on the notion Wordeee believes that the global digital playground generates exciting diverse content. We see limitless opportunities for creatives.

Version 1 release of Wordeee is focused on words as books.  So, who are we looking for in this space?

Wordeee is committed to authors who are committed to themselves. We firmly believe authors must be involved in their success. We know that through building their following organically and with consistent effort, their goals will be attainable. Listed below are the qualities that make you the ideal Wordeee author:

  • You’re confident, progressive, forward-thinking, and a no-excuses-artist determined to find your unique voice and audience.
  • You’re tired of receiving subjective rejection letters.
  • You don’t have 5 million social media followers but know you can change that if you could connect with your tribe.
  • You do not have to be a celebrity, but you must stand behind your book and be willing to do the work to make a successful book.
  • You care about what you write, not what your editor says will sell. This is your story.
  • You can really write!
  • You trust your readers' reviews more than the New York Times’.
  • You understand that investing in yourself leads to freedom.
  • You’ve vowed to live your dream, by any means necessary, to be a writer, a really good writer!
Who can be on the platform?

Any established or emerging author can use the platform. Musicians, screenwriters, filmmakers, theater people, we welcome you. Our community is made up of creative people who can facilitate each other’s successes. Though the beginning point of the journey is a book, other creatives can weigh in during the cross-platforming process by taking the book to film, writing original music scores, etc.

To authors:

Wordeee is not a print on demand (POD) site. We are an online social media publishing company. To be published by Wordeee, your manuscript has to be accepted by a Wordeee editor for publication. We don't expect your work to be perfect of course, and we can help you improve it, but we do expect it to be of a certain minimum standard. Our expert staff will get you to the finish line, but if writing is what you do and want to do, then do it well. Our editors must be involved in your editing process. We do not publish unedited works in any way, shape, or format.

Having said that, authors at various stages of their writing are welcome:

  • Authors with completed manuscripts ready for publication.
  • Authors with great ideas who need to collaborate with a writer to get the work in print.
  • Authors who need a co-writer for their work.
  • Authors who need ghostwriters.
  • Authors who need book packaging support.

Interested in working with ghostwriters and co-writers? Contact us here and an editor will get back to you.

What kind of authors are we looking for?

We are not elitist, but we are adamant that the work we publish be of good quality. We are looking for emerging and established authors whose lives are defined by their art and who want to keep the integrity of their work pure. We don’t take writing and reading lightly. We believe they are the bedrock of society. We want to discover great, diverse voices that ring loud and clear. Wordeee Publishing is curated.

What is all this about the transformation of Words?

The word is the word, and though it may begin on the page, it can be transformed into any form of entertainment, be it a television show, a movie, a song, or a play.

In its full capability, Wordeee will encompass all iterations of words from a library of movies based on books to producing original content, like movies or TV properties, from the books we publish. This is when the bi-directional offerings of Wordeee will kick in. As members of the Wordeee community, Wordeeeans, as we think of you, you will be able to contribute and influence content.

Let me say that again: Wordeee is a community, and as a community, we look after our own. It’s like a company that values its employees and promotes from within. We will stake our claim on the fact that our community is full of ideas. When the time comes for us to make a call for scriptwriters, television producers, or talent of any sort, we will first look to our Wordeee community to recruit. So, Wordeeans will have the opportunity to get paid to provide content for Wordeee.

If I am a previously published author, can I be a part of the Wordeee community?

Absolutely. But the work you submit to Wordeee must be free and unencumbered, that is, it must not be signed to any other publisher or under contract with an agent unless you terminate such a contract. As of this release, we do not work with agents but that, we are sure, will happen in the future.

Why such an emphasis on quality?

Simple: bad books are bad for the world. Reading and writing are the building blocks of life. They must be protected at all costs.

So what’s the process?
  • An Author uploads their manuscript on the platform.
  • The manuscript is reviewed by Wordeee Editors and is either accepted or not.  Our selection process is rigorous. When a book is submitted, our editorial team assesses whether it meets our criteria or not. Good work with the potential for great impact and cross-platforming potential is our sweet spot. Because our editors’ time is valuable, and our submissions are numerous, we favor people who are committed to their craft. The $50 submission fee shows you are invested in yourself and pays for the time an editor spends reading your manuscript.
  • If accepted, the works go through the process machine to determine its needs: editing, fact-checking, line editing, proofreading, layout, and design. Your manuscript administrator sends you pricing information. You accept or reject. If you accept you will be sent a Wordeee contract.  Thereafter, the production of your book begins.
  • If we do not accept your manuscript, an editorial letter will be sent to you and you may choose to work with the Wordeee team to get your manuscript up to specs, or you can choose to complete this work yourself or with your editor. You may submit the manuscript again but you will need to pay a new editorial fee and there is no guarantee that the work will be accepted.
  • Upon acceptance and signing with Wordeee, the author is given permission to enter our super-powerful dashboard where they can begin engaging their audience and create custom content such as videos, live streaming, and establish general rapport with their tribe. The author can track the progress of their books, look at current stats on book sales, request royalty payments, view audience participation, and an array of other important data.
  • We have a revolving publishing process, but a book will take 6-8 months before completion so publication dates will also roll accordingly.
What is Wordeee’s competitive advantage to other platforms?

We are an online publisher, not a print on demand portal. We know publishing from the inside. We know authors. We are authors. We know words. We write them. Our sole emphasis is to help authors create their best work and to earn a living doing, what for many, is their passion. Our entire platform is our competitive advantage.

Why did you develop Wordeee?

The adage says, do what you love! We love authors and artists and people who appreciate them.

The founders of Wordeee themselves are authors, readers, bookstore owners, television personalities, filmmakers, traditional publishing professionals, and technologists — and yes, they are artists too! We have a panoramic view of the world of words from its beginning to its end and through its transformation. Wordeee is about redefining the future of book publishing on the notion that the ever-enlarging digital playground and global economy offers new, exciting opportunities for authors and readers.

A new economy requires new solutions that can extract the value of the crowd economy. Headed by a group of passionate, no-turning-back business and technology entrepreneurs, Wordeee founders know that ideas are the easy part of any project. We not only stand behind our big idea with actionable steps as we grow our platform, but we are ready and committed to the successful implementation of our game-changing book ecosystem.

Ever since the world of big publishing has lost its relevance and vitality, there's been a lot of noise and confusion in the industry, and the voices that matter most are being crowded out. Independently published books are growing and so is the proliferation of really bad books. A growing non-traditional publishing market is a statement that change is needed and that authors need new options, especially in the ever-evolving digital and social media age.

In a future that is all about user-generated storytelling and content, Wordeee's open-ended system harnesses the power of the latest technologies to level the playing field for authors and artists to be promoted beyond their usual borders.

Imagine, just imagine with us, one place where the world of words comes together for true connections, cultural exchanges, communication, and most of all to make words fun once again.

Wordeee’s goals are to revitalize, socialize, and revolutionize the world of books, over multi-platforms.

Another goal is to ensure that one of the most important life skills, literacy, continues to excite consumers.

Why is the platform called Wordeee?

Wordeee means electronic, entertainment, and engagement with words. The "eee" in Wordeee is the backronym for electronic entertainment and engagement. Remember, in the beginning, there was the word.  We do not discriminate on word formats; we treat the world of words in all its forms of entertainment. The world to us is in the word.

Do you have an Ambassador Program?

Yes, we do, and anyone can be a Wordeee Ambassador. When someone signs up on the platform, they will get a unique code in their welcome e-mail which is forever linked to their account. They are encouraged to share this code with like-minded people looking to become authors. If someone they share the code publishes with Wordeee, they will get a referral fee of $100.

Copyright & Registration
What about my copyrights and design rights?

You own the copyright to all your works. Wordeee will publish your book, assign an ISBN to all formats we publish — trade, hardcover, audio, or e-book.

Wordeee’s professional team will design and make the final decision on your book, however, you will have input and be presented with appropriate options during the design phase. The design rights are not transferable and remain the property of Wordeee.

What about my movie and foreign rights?

You own your copyright. Depending on the contract negotiated, you may have given Wordeee your movie or foreign rights options. Wordeee is an integrated platform dealing with the transformation of words so you should expect to have conversations with us around these topics.

Costs & Fees
So if you are full-fledged publishing house why am I paying?

If you know your worth and care enough about your God-given talent, this conversation is a non-starter. The world has changed. The opportunity to experience your greatness, to leave your legacy, your way, is up to you. You are the catalyst of your own life.  Always bet on yourself.

With so many barriers to entry in the old system, authors are being crowded out in preference for famous or popular authors. Wordeee's confident, fearless authors are betting on themselves; they are not afraid to invest in their success.

The world of direct publishing is far outstripping the world of old publishing, but unfortunately, some very bad books are being published in both arenas. Wordeee is the new way of publishing. It is a hybrid between the old and the new. We do not pay advances and we ask you to bet on yourself. Advances are essentially loans you pay back before you see a cent in royalty. Ninety-five percent of books never earn back their advance. So, it’s free money, right? No, it is not. Not earning out your royalty can affect your chances of ever getting another contract. At Wordeee, we love to know that you believe in your work and that you will enjoy getting paid for your effort from day one. Your royalty begins with the very first book you sell and continues for as long as your book is in print and you stand behind your work. We will never remainder your book. You will!

Post-Production Support

Post-production is when the real work begins. You now have a book so use your lounge creatively to find your tribe and gain their support. Your contract with Wordeee offers you a true partnership with all the bells and whistles built-in for your success.

What do you mean by “trending authors”?

Wordeee is a community driven platform. Your readers decide how great you are. The more they comment the more you trend and that’s why it’s important to have great content in your lounge. Trending authors come to the attention of Wordeee by bubbling up to the number one or two spots. Wordeee will evaluate these authors for cross platform potential. For example the subject matter of your book sparks a national or international conversation. We may decide then that you would be a wonderful person to have your own Wordeee Television talk show….on Wordeee TV. Or your books is movie good…we may decide to make an original content movie of your book. The transformation of words in all its iteration is what the full vision of the Wordeee platform is all about.
